WHAT:

This 54 hour course is grounded in a thorough study of the essentials of the Windows 10 landscape: Desktop, Start menu, Taskbar, and File Explorer. There is a major emphasis on the fundamentals of file and folder management as well as a focus on basic web skills like browser settings, web searching, downloading, uploading and attaching files to email.

Once these skills are established, we study the fundamentals of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and also look at their parallels in Google Drive, Doc, Slides and Sheets.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Navigate Microsoft Word and create documents.
  • Create, edit, and conduct presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Navigate Microsoft Excel and create worksheets and workbooks.

WHO: This course is offered through the Older Adults department at City College of San Francisco. The Older Adults Program offers more than 80 classes at over 40 city locations for people age 55 and above in the areas of computer training, legal services, health, fitness, fine arts, and the humanities. WHERE: Downtown campus, 4th & Mission, one block south of Powell BART, room 515C.

HOW: Enroll as a CCSF student then pre-register now so that you can be assured a seat! Or go to Admissions on the first floor of the Downtown campus at 4th & Mission (one block south of Powell BART).

If you are told that the class is full, come to the first class and the instructor will register you in class. Please bring your student ID number.
