WHAT: This 54 hour course is a continuation of Introduction to Computers and will emphasize working with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You do not need to have taken Intro to Computers I to take this course.

The course begins with a review of the essentials of Windows 10 landscape: Desktop, Start menu, Taskbar, and File Explorer. The fundamentals of file transfer are also reviewed with an emphasis on window / folder layout.

The bulk of the course focuses on the basics of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Effective web searching, downloading images and files from the web, and email is also  covered within the context of these programs.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Navigate Microsoft Word and create documents.
  • Create, edit, and conduct presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Navigate Microsoft Excel and create worksheets and workbooks.

WHO: This course is offered through the Older Adults department at City College of San Francisco. The Older Adults Program offers more than 80 classes at over 40 city locations for people age 55 and above in the areas of computer training, legal services, health, fitness, fine arts, and the humanities. WHERE: Downtown campus, 4th & Mission, one block south of Powell BART, room 515C.
